Working from life, preparatory sketches, photography, and colour notes I create landscape paintings to capture a fleeting glimpse, weather effect or moment in time. I have always been influenced by the work of Pissarro, the impressionists, the intimists, the fauve painters and more recently by the work of Paul Nash.
